Hi! I'm Veronnica,
...the photographer behind Opalight Photography, formerly known as Veronnica Watson Photography.
For nearly 20 years, I've had the incredible privilege of documenting the moments that matter most. My photography journey began in 2008 after the birth of my son, when I experienced firsthand just how quickly childhood slips by and how meaningful photographs become. What started as a way to preserve my own family's memories soon grew into something much bigger as friends and family began asking me to capture theirs. Through heartfelt referrals and wonderful clients who became like family, my business has grown almost entirely by word of mouth.
As life evolved, so did I.

After walking through some of life's darkest seasons, I found myself rediscovering hope, healing, and joy. That journey inspired a new chapter—not only personally, but professionally—and led to the rebrand from Veronnica Watson Photography to Opalight Photography.
The name Opalight was chosen with great intention. Opalite is known as a stone representing transition, personal strength, emotional healing, and new beginnings. Though it is crafted by human hands rather than formed naturally, I've always loved what that symbolizes: that joy isn't something we simply wait to find—it's something we can intentionally create. Healing, self-forgiveness, hope, and happiness are choices we make, even after heartbreak or adversity. For me, Opalight represents finding open blue skies after the storm and embracing the beauty that can grow from life's most difficult chapters.
That philosophy shapes the way I photograph people.
I believe the best portraits aren't created through stiff poses or forced smiles. They're found in genuine connection—the laughter, playful moments, quiet embraces, and little interactions that tell the real story of your family. My sessions are relaxed, joyful, and designed to create memories just as much as beautiful photographs.
With a bright, vibrant, and timeless style, I specialize in photographing families, children, high school seniors, couples, and life's meaningful milestones. My goal is to create images that feel alive with emotion and become artwork you'll proudly display in your home for years to come.
